A new learning series has just begun! The series is “Eat Right for Your Spiritual Type”. Each segment will include one of the spiritual types and a fun recipe to raise their vibration for their spiritual gifts to the world.
I organized the spiritual types into 9 main categories. Each Spiritual Type is symbolized a different fruit. This is just a sneak peak. We will discuss the types in depth at a later time.
LIMES – Spiritual Teachers (Pastors, Motivational Speakers, etc.)
APPLES – Humanitarians (Help the world on large scale sav)ing the dolphins or mankind…you get the idea)
BLUEBERRIES – Intuitives ( Psychics, Mediums, Prophetics)
ORANGES – Artists, Musicians
STRAWBERRIES – Movement ( yoga, dance, trainers)
WATERMELON – Caretakers ( one on one care)
KIWIS – Writers (combination of more than one type)
GRAPES – Organizers ( behind the scenes, big picture, support)
HUCKLEBERRY – Healers, Light Workers, massage therapists, counselors, therapists
Today we are going to treat our wonderful Watermelons, The Caretakers. These are those amazing nurses, hospice workers, Retirement Home employees, people who care for a loved one in their home, and the list goes on. This recipe will feed their soul.
Before you begin preparing a meal, I suggest you sage your kitchen or place some Rose Quartz in it. You could also Reiki the ingredients, pray over them or do whatever ritual you do to honor your beliefs. Now put on some great music and get happy! You want to put your love and happiness into your food.
Watermelon – The Caretaker
They are liquid sunshine and all heart! They love caring for people one-on-one. They usually have very intimate and close relationships with those they are caring for.
Let me tell you why I chose these ingredients for The Caretaker and then I will give you the actual recipe for “The California Quencher”.
Watermelon – The watermelon is pink and green just like the swirly whirly heart chakra. It is full of life sustaining water, 92% to be exact. It is also known to detox the pineal gland for better dreams, imagination, aura viewing and the ability to feel energy more clearly. Watermelon is a great activator for the Sacral Chakra. This fosters our creativity, control and balance, and optimism.
Cucumber – They’re great for heart chakra! They help us to be more accepting of ourselves and others, promote self-love and self-care, compassion, and happiness. The Caretaker needs as many foods as possible that will keep their heart open but balanced. This avoids them from feeling frustrated, depressed or just giving way too much of themselves.
Mint – Very helpful for Caretaker to communicate effectively with their patients and/or loved ones. Mint is all about healing that pesky throat chakra we all have! It also clears the head, refreshes the spirit, clears up communication and makes a great mojito. It is especially great for Aries and Taurus signs to assist in getting them to express themselves.
Feta – Dairy is great for grounding! However, if you’re Vegan or Vegetarian don’t fret. This salad is absolutely amazing without the cheese.
The California Quencher
In a large bowl add:
1/2 watermelon or a small watermelon – cut into bite size chunks
2 cucumbers – cut into bite size pieces
1/4 fresh mint – cut into thin strips ( or chopped is fine as well)
1/4 – 1/2 cup Feta (depending on how cheesy you are) cut into bite size pieces
For the vinaigrette, in a small separate bowl add:
1/4 Organic Maple Syrup ( a great food for grounding the root chakra)
1/4 Balsamic Vinegar ( decalcifies the pineal gland for the 3rd eye chakra)
Whisk them together and pour over the other ingredients in the large bowl.
Add Kosher salt ( or sea salt) and fresh cracked pepper to your liking and toss the salad.
Now taste and remember….FEED YOUR SOUL!
HER FOOD JOURNEY
Raquel loves combining her cooking skills and her healing energy work. She was professionally trained at the world renowned Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated with honors.
She also received an award for an essay. The essay described how in the future, she wants to combine her professional food experience to feed the homeless healthy food. She believes this energetic shift could change their lives and her own.
Raquel fell head over heels in love with learning new recipes in college. Her second love was trying any unique foods she could sink her teeth into! One of her favorite parts of traveling the world has always been the search for delicious food.
HER SOUL JOURNEY
Raquel first began seeing angels at the age of six when she was in a serious car accident with her father. They were hit head on by a drunk driver and their vehicle rolled over several times. When the Rescue Workers found Raquel, she was a great distance from the scene of the accident. The Rescue Workers could not figure out how she got there.
When the Rescue Worker picked her up, he asked her, “How did you get all the way over here? We were looking for you in the deep ditch of water.” Raquel replied matter of factly, “The angel carried me here. Didn’t you see him?” People thought it was just a child’s imagination but Raquel continued to see angels throughout her life.
She also felt a “sixth sense” and would feel an uneasiness before “bad” things would happen. She experienced the same angel saving her again in her 30’s. She had a premonition that something “bad” was going to happen the day before. She asked people to be praying for her. The next day she was shot in the line of duty. She saw the angel stand in front of the assailant and he fled the scene before he could shoot her again.
During her recovery in Detroit, she found Reiki. She was searching for Holistic medicine instead of the Western medicine with horrific side affects. An incredible Reiki practitioner took Raquel under her wing and began to teach her about Reiki, Holistic Medicine and Psychic Intuition. It changed her whole life.
She continued her Reiki and Intuitive journey in Las Vegas with another amazing Reiki Practitioner. Raquel decided to stop fighting the Universe and to heed the call of becoming a Reiki Practitioner herself. Since she made that choice, she serves the community with donation based Reiki in the park for those who do not know what it is and the benefits it provides. Raquel also holds her own Reiki Clinics and Energy Exchanges for Light Workers.
Raquel is the founder of Soulicious by Raquel. She offers Reiki Services, Chakra Balancing and private cooking lessons.
